 Milnthorpe Beach

Milnthorpe Beach is a long beach accessed over a small causeway (by foot) which stretches approx 4 kilometres along the sandy front of the Aboretum Forest.

 Pohara Beach

Taking a break from cycling is refreshing.

The start of the WNBR (2024) was a great chance to meet people from all over the world and share the messages of body positivity, freedom, and of course reduction of fossil fuel use

Takaka is located at GPS Co-ordinates:
40°51'38.9"S 172°48'21.9"E

Takaka is a bit off the beaten track as far as destinations go but the trek is well worth it.
The region has a number of places to stay including homestay/bnb and hostel accommodation.
