There are a number of beaches that have historically been utilised for the purposes of having time in the sun and in the sea without the need for yukky swimming costumes.

being surrounded by water, as an island nation, we are never far from a beach, lake, river or other bathing area.

With so many beaches, and the freedome to enjoy them as nature intended, many people exercise the freedoms that NZ offers.
