INTOUCH

THE N.Z.N.F. SUPPLEMENT APRIL 1991

OUR NATIONAL EXECUTIVE

Who are they, what are they, what is their function, do we really need them? Questions you may have asked yourself at some time. For this information I went to Kevin Sampson, our National P.R.O:-

The constitution of the N.Z.N.F., spells out the Executive's function as being to carry out the day to day activities of the Federation including, unless it is specified otherwise, the making of decisions about matters coming before it. The Executive does not normally meet as a group during the year but there are frequent telephone disâussions about issues as they arise. Each member of the Executive has their elected function to perform. The main purpose of the N.Z.N.F. is to foster nudism in N.Z. The Executive acts as a coordinator amoung clubs, helping indvidual clubs with advice on their particular problems (and with the help of the Percy Cousins Trust, provides tangible assistance), carries out activities that is not possible for clubs to do individually (e.g. the recent promotion package), and provides a link into the I.N.F.

Without the N.Z.N.F. we would only have individual clubs and the nudist movement in N.Z. would be much weaker and fragmented. For example, it would be difficult to run national rallies including deciding where to have them. We would lack the minimum influence we do have at the national level in effecting decisions concerning our way of life - free beaches, sumary of fences act etc. Without the. N.Z.N.F. it would be harder for clubs to help each other.

In the July edition I'll be looking at the members of the Executive and make them better known to you.

Edited by Edna Sykes and published by the N.Z.N.F. P.O. Box 94, Napier. All correspondence to this address. DEADLINE for the next edition 12th. July.

ARE YOU A COMMITTEE PERSON.

At this time of the year a great many of our clubs are looking at A.G.M.s and possible change of executives and committee members. It is a well known fact that on an average each carnilttee ends up with a possible four members who could be classed as dead wood.

Two of those would have accepted nonination for the prestige, nothing else. The other two could be classed as 'all say and no do.' Before accepting nomination it might be worth considering the following points:-

1. Why was I nominated - what do the nominators expect of me?

2. Do I have the time during the next year to attend each committee meeting?

3. How is the presence of me on committee going to help the management of my club?

4. As a committee member am I prepared to 'go public' for the betterment of my club and the N.Z.N.F.?

5. How much time am I prepared to allocate to my club during my year of office?

6. How much satisfaction from being a committee member do I anticipate?

7. What would the members' expectations be of me if I became a committee member?

8. Do I really want the responsibility?

9. Do I want to be an ordinary member of my club or can I offer so much more by being on committee?

10. Can I look objectively to the future of my club and the N.Z.N.F.

While all the committee members and workers in the clubs do so on a voluntary basis - the fact still remains that being a executive or members of committee puts a great deal of responsibilty on one's shoulders and should be taken seriously.

BEREAVEMENTS

It is with sadness that I read of six deaths in the movement during the past three months. A.O.H.C. lost Peter and Joseph, A.S.C. Paul,

W.S.C. Heather, C.S.C. Jack, and T.N.C. Anne. I am sure all members join me in sending their thoughts and prayers to all the families during this sad time.

NOTHING IS AS EASY AS IT SEEMS

Just when you had got used to a new editor and address that all has now been changed. From 27th April please send all correspondence to

AROUND THE CLUBS

FREE BEACH GROUP - The signs at Papamoa Beach have been removed by the Maori landowners. While this little problem is being sorted out members who are using the beach and are asked to leave - please do so without any fuss.

PALMERSTON NORTH SUN CLUB - Polar Bear Swim and Christmas dinner - 22-23 June. For those who wish to frolic in the icy swimming pool (I know the feeling - been there done that) and warm up eating 'chrissy pud' the charges are $10 adults $3 children. For a great different weekend give Sue a tinkle on 063 3248054.

ROTOTA SUN CLUB - Don't forget the Hot Pool weekend (from one extreme to another) Graham would love to hear from you on 075 786693.

I note that AUCKLAND SUN CLUB are holding a garage sale. This could be a viable proposition for a lot of clubs. It would not only help your club but make space for more 'junk' in your homes.

DID YOU KNOW?

"SEA WATER, nature's source of medicine"

Did you know that sea water contains forty two minerals that can found in the human body?

Magnesium, sulphur, calcium, iodine, iron, chlorine, boron, potassium, sodium, flourine, phosphorous, magnesium and barium to name only a few. Nature provides a perfect sourc€ of healing readily available and free of charge.

In China, sea water is used medicinally and has been for centuries. Throughout the United States of America it is available at Health Food Shops, but is kept in plastic containers which soon erode. Americans need to travel twelve miles out to sea before the water is free from pollution.

In New Zealand, our coastline is so vast, much uninhabited, so pure sea water is easily procurable. No point inland is more than one hundred kilometres from the sea, as the crow flies.

Some of the ailments that sea water benefits when taken internally are... all forms of Rheumatism and Arthritis, Anemia, Diabetes, Epilepsy, high blood pressure, Leukemia, Muscular Dystrophy, Parkinson’s Disease, Pernicious Anemia, kidney, bladder and gallbladder complaints, Asthma.

Sea Water can be applied externally to the body for skin conditions e.g. Acne, Eczema, boils, bedsores, Dermatitis. Apply neat and let dry naturally several times a day.

Internal dosage:- One dessertspoon of sea water in some cold or warm milk (never above blood heat) each morning before eating. If the complaint is acute, a second dose one and a half hours after the evening meal is recommended. Always store in a clear glass container, never store in the fridge, but in cool place with muslin or gauze to cover NEVER CORK.

At no cost, surely this medicine, provided for our use, has been grossly overlooked. Borrowed from Healthy Options, Mary McIntyre.
