CLIVE GREEN’S

14 Federal Street, City: Every Sunday until 14 December

9 November will be a B.Y.0. night, and there will be

complimentary refreshments on 14 December, the "break-up night".

5—9 PM. Single $5, Double $8, Senior Citizens $4, Children free.

Visitors and New Members: Your first visit is free!

Please note that these evenings are now run by a member of your own Committee. We need your support to ensure that we can keep this night going. There are many other Saunas in Auckland but most are expensive and many offer less. Also, almost all will either (1) not permit social nudity, or (2) not allow families, and could cause us some embarrassment. If anyone knows of an exception please let us know.

SWIMERAMA: Last night for the year, Saturday 18 October 6.30-8.30 PM.

THIS NIGHT IS FREE!!

RICKARDOS, PARAKAI: Friday 31 October, and 28 November, which will be a

social night, so do keep it free. Some refreshments will be provided, but we will not be able to cook food, so have your meal beforehand or buy from the takeaway bar. NO GLASS WILL BE PERMITTED AROUND THE POOLS.

Same time: 6-10PM Different Price: $4.50, Children $2.00

As usual, your hosts are the North Shore Nudist Club.

We wish to thank the NSNC for their hospitality on Sunday, 28 September. We had a great barbecue which was enjoyed by over 40 people from both clubs. The game of volleyball after lunch gave a new dimension to sport/comedy.

CAMPING TRIP LABOUR WEEK-END, 25-27 OCTOBER.  John Riggir has details of a secluded property near Thames where you can put up a tent and stay, or visit nearby places of interest. For details of this special long week-end treat phone 565—219.

MAYOR ISLAND: Details and enrolment form are enclosed. Please read carefully. All monies to Adele, please. Address on form.

NGATAHOA LODGE, WAITANGI WEEKEND, 6-8 FEBRUARY 1987:

Charges are: $4.00 per adult per night, plus $4.00 per child for the whole weekend.

The Lodge has electricity, gas for cooking, bunks, and ablution blocks with hot water. Tents and camper vans can be accommodated in the spacious grounds, but caravans are not recommended owing to the nature of the access road. The Lodge is surrounded by many miles of native bush, with several streams and waterfalls. Within half an hour of the Lodge there is a swimming/diving pool 6m deep. Families are welcome but it is IMPORTANT that children do not stray.

Ngatuhoa is famous for its Saturday night Fancy Undress Ball, cricket and flying fox.

You will need to bring: food and drink (no fridge), blankets, torch, warm clothes for evenings and — A MUST — insect repellent.

Proposed meeting times: 7.00 pm and 8.30 pm on Thursday 5th, and 10.30 am on Friday 6th February 1987. Full details of meeting places and times in next newsletter. Keep these dates free. Booking slips are enclosed, and Adele would like these, with remittance, before Christmas. Send to:

Other important news from the A.G.M.: The appointment of a Beach Warden by the Takapuna City Council is aimed at troublesome individuals rather than nudists. However, it is advised that members avoid Clifton Road Beach and use instead St Leonard's Beach.

A special vote of thanks was given to Adele Stevenson for her organising of the Mayor Island and Ngatuhoa Lodge trips, and also to Pat and Tony Davis for their contribution to Swimerama. After some years of loss of membership, numbers seem to be stabilising.

WAIWERA SOCIAL: Thirty to thirty-six people had a wonderful time at Waiwera after the A.G.M. It was a pity that more did not attend - $18 a head proved to be great value. We had no complaints about either the food or the temperature of the pool. Hope to see more of you there next year!

CLUB SHOP: We have limited supplies of towels at $7 each, tee shirts (mostly SM and OS) at $7.50, and car stickers 50c. Prices will have to go up when we have to buy new stocks.

Enclosed is the 1986 NATIONAL NUDIST RALLY newsletter and registration form. We warmly recommend this event to any members who live in Wellington or who will be in Wellington 28.12.86 to 2.1.87. We hope to send at least one member of the Committee to the Rally.

HOLIDAYS OFFERED:

Lady (solo parent welcome) offered cheap weekends etc. away, including extended Christmas period, in large well-equipped caravan in return for some help.

MAYOR ISLAND   "TUTHUA"

Mayor Island, a sub-tropical extinct volcano 17 miles off shore from the Bay Of Plenty coastline, is very popular with big game fishermen and scuba divers.

The Island is a wild-life refuge to the native bell-bird and tui, wood pigeon and our native parrot, the kaka.
The many miles of walking tracks on the island offer scenery and activity ranging from leisurely strolls to serious tramping. One can wander along under the largest pohutukawa forest in the world.

Other tracks lead the more venturesome into the island's volcanic crater, now long dormant and harbouring two lakes.

The Tauranga Game Fishing Club complex and Mayor Island Trust camping ground are at South East (Opo) Bay.

______________________

Information for campers. A caretaker is in residence during Christmas holiday breaks. Tel. Tauranga 70531.
Men's and ladies flush toilets and cold shower. There is a small shower complex with marshal water heater, but is up to campers to scout around island for wood.

A small building with two reasonably sized solid wooden tables and one small fireplace, come BBQ. Two concrete tubs with cold taps, outside building. No power.

All gear must be loaded on and off boat — chain style. No wharf, just a 12" plank.

Camping area is situated under pohutukawa trees just above shoreline at eastern end of bay and backed by high bush covered cliffs.

Campers may now use the lounge bar and dine at the game fishing lodge without paying paying a daily membership fee.

Things to bring. - SEA LEGS TABLETS. Tent, bedding, camp stretcher or air bed (ground very hard and uneven in places). Toiletries, towels, torch, utensils, saucepan etc, Gas cooker or portable BBQ.

ENOUGH FOOD to last (preferably pre-cooked or frozen) in chilly bin. Milk Powder. F.B.G. will supply washing up equipment.

Back pack, good footwear and water bottle if going tramping. Takes about six hours to walk round island.

Carry bag for food, drink, etc, if going sunbathing at Western Bay. Lovely little beach about 20 mins walk over hill from camp.

Snorkel and goggles. Water very clear and fish may be seen a few metres off shore.

As the Manutere has been chartered by the underwater club for the whole weekend, there is no fishing available. There may be room for 2 or 3 people to dangle a line over the edge, but keeping in mind, the boat will be out on the water all day.
