St Barnabas' Scout Hall
Clive Road, Mt Eden

Afternoon tea will be served at the
close of the meeting.

Dear Members and Friends

This year's AGM will be particularly important, as we will need to discuss the intention of the Takapuna City Council to 'crack down on nudity'. You are all urged to attend: Don't leave it to somebody else - they may be leaving it to you! Nominations for the Committee are also invited.

We would like to draw members' attention to:

RULE 1 (q): The Group does not encourage the practice of nudity in any manner likely to offend members of the public; and

RULE 4 (c): In the event of any legal action being taken against a member or members, arising out of nude recreation in a place and at a time which the committee considers suitable, the Group will render such assistance as it considers appropriate and within its resources.

Copies of the Rules and Objectives of the Free Beach Group can be obtained from the Secretary.

Following the AGM our winter social will again be held at the Waiwera Thermal Pools from 6 to 10 pm. The cost this year will be $18.00 per person - the first increase for many years. A barbecue meal, tea and coffee will be supplied and plastic glasses for your own wine/beer/whatever. Management does not allow glass around the pool area, so you may like to share a cask with friends. THE FREE BUS will leave the Scout Hall following the AGM and return there after the Social. If you wish to be picked up/put down at other points please indicate on the slip enclosed with this letter.

On SUNDAY, 1 JUNE you are invited to a barbecue meal at the Orewa grounds of the
North Shore Nudist Club. A cook-your-own steak + a free glass of wine or can of beer is yours for a mere $7.00 at the gate. $10-11 am Start.

NOW TO CLOSE OFF WITH SOMETHING DIFFERENT:

  1. For Sale a half share in a 13m (43 ft) steel ketch with teak decks and trim. Centre cockpit, two double cabins and superb saloon. The yacht is is Wellington but could be relocated. The cost of a half share is $130,000 - not a lot to those who know about such things or who are looking for a good investment with a difference.

  2.

  3. Of possible interest to Wellington members; People are wanted to crew the above yacht. You need not be an expert sailor but keenness, compatibility and common-sense are important. Suggested ages are 25 to 45 years, single or couple. Just a little experience would help.

The yacht is a registered NZ ship and is up to Marine Department specifications for charter work. If you are interested in either of these propositions contact
