Dear members, July 85

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING.
The A.G.M. and Waiwera trip will be held on August 24th., at the Scout Hall in Clive Road, Mt Eden at 2p.m.

Agenda includes nomination of a new committee; setting of subs; advertising; prices of T-shirts towels etc; possibility of two Waiwera nights per year; should we hold evenings along the lines of the A.O.H.C. night. We are looking at the cost of printing a card which members can give out as advertising.

This is a chance for all of you to air your views so come along and meet your fellow members. Bring a plate for tea and coffee after the meeting.

Nominations and any other business to the committee on our box number or bring them up at the meeting.

ANNUAL WAIWERA TRIP - to the hot pools.
This popular trip follows immediately after the A.G.M. A free bus will be waiting outside the hall. BYO for a swim; food will be served at about 8p.m.
Entrance to Waiwera will be by ticket only. For catering we are required to notify the numbers attending two weeks in advance. Last year there were some problems with late comers.

The price for the swim and meal will be $12.00 each. Bus pick up points this year must be pre-arranged with the committee. Check with Alf Gorringe 685 374 or Tom Lewis 403 9018

Out of town members - If you wish to attend the A.G.M or Waiwera trip we will be happy to find a bed for a couple of rights. Contact John Riggir 565 219 or Tom Lewis 403 9018 and leave your name and number - give us plenty of notice so we can ring around the locals for you.

ARA buses do go up to Parakai arriving at about 6.00 p.m. There are no buses coming back but I am sure that you would be able to get a lift back to Auckland. 6.00.m. to 10.00 p.m.

New Plymouth; Back Beach I understand is getting very popular. Most of the people there are not members but a few are joining us. I didn't manage to go out there on my recent trip but maybe next time.

Reporoa camp sites.
From Geyserland Leisure Park - lease of camp sites on their grounds at Orakei-Korako. - $50 and $25 per year - can be sublet when you are not using them. You would have a site all year around without further camp fees. Further details and application forms from,

T.J. Grason, Director,
Geyserland Leisure Park, Aard Ave,
R.D. 2. Reporoa.

     Include a self addressed envelope.

Sunday sauna at Clive Greens;
5.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. every Sunday. $5 single $8 double. We exercise, swap ideas, books, produce, problems etc. Members and friends are welcome. A suggestion box is there and some of the recent suggestions will be discussed at the A.G.M. This box could also be used for committee nominations. Most the committee are there most Sundays and are only too happy to have a talk.

A WORD OF WARNING / Since the new red pub opened tow trucks have been busy in the parking area next to Clive Greens. Park out on the road if you don't want to get caught.

Most of the activities mentioned in this newsletter are centered on Auckland. This is understandable when about half of our membership is in the Auckland area. Many Aucklanders think that N.Z. finishes at Hamilton. We would like more news from other areas to prove them wrong. Call us when you visit us. What saunas etc are available in other parts of the country as we all travel around? We are looking for somewhere for the city bound to get away from it all for the odd weekend, e.g. a quiet or isolated woolshed or area where we could camp and unwind. We could make suitable financial or other arrangements where possible.

Use this newsletter for gossip, small ads etc.

This is the last newsletter before the A.G.M. so we will see you there.
          Best wishes

John
