Fred Bear Fred Bear

JULY AUGUST

Dear Friends,

I feel a little sad as I write this, as I will not be standing for the committee again this year, and this will be my last newsletter to you. I have really enjoyed this contact with all of you over these last few years. I count you all as my friends.

But it is time for a change, time for me to move on, time for the Free Beach Group to change. In ten short years, the battle for free beaches has more or less been won, we need now only to guard the freedom we have gained. The Utopia we dreamed of is just around the corner, the joys and benefits of nudism are becoming more widely known and accepted. In the future, our Beach List could be a list of all the beaches in New Zealand. To shed your clothes at the beach will be natural and normal.

Of the present committee, only two, Tony and Paddy, will be standing again for next year. If You want a Free Beach Group, then YOU will have to do something about it. We need a Secretary and an Editor.

Our AGM is only a few weeks away, and I hope that those of you who are ready to do your bit to keep our club running, will not be shy about offering to go on the committee.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING: This year will be held on Saturday, 13 August, at 2 p.m. at the Boy Scout Den, Clive Road, Mt.Eden. Contributions for afternoon tea would be appreciated.

SWIMARAMA: Held on the third Saturday of each month, 16 July, 20 August, at Panmure Pool, Lagoon Drive. Adults $2, children 50 cents. Water volley ball and saunas. Bring your friends.

RICARD'S POOL, PARAKAI: Held on the last Friday of every month, 29 July, 26 August, 6.30 - 10 p.m. Adults $2.30, children 50 cents. Hosts: North Shore Sun Club.

SAUNA: Every Sunday 5 - 9 p.m. at Clive Green Health Centre, 14 Federal Street: $3 single, $5 double, children under 15, free.

I am sad to hear that Morrie Zainey is seriously ill, and also that Margaret Duthie has had a bad bout in hospital, but she is home now, and we wish her a speedy recovery. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Best wishes to you all.

Adrianne
