Dear Friends, 26th October,1977.

How are you all? Getting fit and trim I hope. The Season got off to a terrific start on October 9th at Long Bay. It may have rained in Auckland but for the twenty or so who turned up at Long Bay they were treated to seven hours of hot unbroken sunshine, several of us getting quite quite red. Having a tea time tide most of the Group climbed back over the headland whilst the more agile scrambled back along the rocks. Thank you Allison for your kind help.
CAR POOLS & LIFTS Similar to last summer we have divided the Auckland District into smaller areas, each with their own Transport Co-ordinator who are - North Shore - Brian Longley. East Auckland Tony Davis. West Auckland Alison Milne. Hobsonville and Way out West Dave Meiklejohn. Is there anyone in Central Auckland/South Auckland who feels he or she could help out in this way. All you need is a telephone, a bit of spare time. To get the scheme going and help the Co-ordinators would all the members who need lifts or who can give lifts, and members who want to share cars please get in touch with me or directly to their Area Co-ordinator. All this is entirely optional of course.
Auckland Members will I hope be reading the Diary of Events very carefully and planning to go on all of the trips. Our Country Members will be getting in touch with their local organiser and maybe arranging a Barbecue in someone's "back yard" on a Saturday night to get to know each other and talk about Free Beaches and the following day go down to the beach together. This makes for a friendly atmosphere because Nudists are HAPPY people.
We have started to compile the latest edition of the Members Directory and note that there are still some subs to come in, so if you have not paid or want any alterations made you will have to be quick to be in.

The N.Z.N.F. have obtained time on T.V.2's ACCESS PROGRAM next March. The message of the program is to be "PUBLIC ACCEPTANCE OF SOCIAL NUDITY". Bobbie Smith of South Auckland Nudist Club is to be the Co-ordinator between the N.Z.N.F and T.V.2. On Sat. Dec. 3rd South Auck.N.C. are having a day out at Kariotahi Beach (see diary) when they will be filming for the Program and have invited F.B.G. to it. At our last film night would those who agreed to be filmed make a strong effort to be there. Any other members who are willing to appear and did not put their names down on the list which Robin took, could they ring and volunteer direct to Bobbie on MRE 56-966. An official cameraman and photographer have already been appointed. She has also asked for the loan of any 35mm slides or 16mm film suitable for the Program. Clearance for every person on the slides, films and filming must be given for publication (in a big way). The originals of the slides will not leave the Group because Robin has slide copying facilities and only copies will be used. The Originals will be cared for and returned. These must be sent or passed on to us by Christmas.

In addition to the Access Program the N.Z.N.F. are considering an advertising campaign. You may remember Robin mentioned it at the A.G.M. and it is also mentioned on pages 10 and 11 of the September edition of the Naturist. In order that we may assist with the financing of this we are going to run a stall at one of the local flea markets, where just about anything can be sold. We are asking for donations in the form of just about anything. If you haven't any unwanted white elephants a few Old dollars would be equally acceptable. Trevor Sampson has kindly offered to store the goodies for us in the meantime. A good collecting point for these articles would be at our Social. If you can't make this then please ring me.

Tee shirts. These are to be yellow with a black Fred Bear printed  on. No wording. If you would like one, please send $5.50. and state whether small, medium or large.

Great news for Thames lovers. That means all of us. Brian has very kindly agreed to allow us to camp there again over the Christmas and Summer holidays, but not later (due to re-manuring). For the benefit of newer members details in the next newsletter on site and location.

SOCIAL - It has been decided to hold our Social on Saturday the 26th November starting at 7.30. p.m. Admission will once again be one dollar for adults and some children free. Ladies a plate please, and fellows BYOG. Glasses and soft drinks will be available free of charge. The Venue will be Glenfield Hall on the North Shore. After travelling north on the Motorway to the end of the Motorway take the Wairau Road (S.H.l. Albany Road) turn left after about 1 mile into Hogans Road. Hall Road which is what you want is 4th on the left. There will be fancy dress for the children with prizes. Don't worry about the fact that an outing is planned for the following day as we will finish at a reasonable hour.

As from the next Newsletter which will be registered as a magazine (we hope) one of the conditions is that we put just our P.O. Box No on the back of the envelope. As this is contrary to what we state on our Membership Application Form, would anyone who objects please let me know.

Suggestions and or contributions to the Newsletter will be most welcome.

A Timely Reminder. (Extract from the Rules) No member or ex-member shall divulge the name or address of any other member to a person not known to be sympathetic to the aims of the Group, without the consent of the other member. Though there can be no legal restriction on photography in a public place, members are expected to be discreet in their use of a camera at Group meetings. The permission of members appearing in any photograph so taken must be obtained before publication.

Another reminder Don't forget your subs.

Thank you Des for another interesting Diary.

To all those who failed the navigation test on Sunday the 23rd to Pakiri I would like to apologise (I also lost my way). However the instructions have been amended for the next trip.

Sorry that this has been a rather long and formal Newsletter but it all seems to happen at once.

I will finish by hoping you have many happy and sunny days. See you all soon.

Yours sincerely,
