Mokoroa Falls

The distance from Waitakere City is about 15 km.

Where:-

From Waitakere Township, 7 km west of Waitakere City, go across the railway bridge and left into Bethells Rd, then after 700 m, right into Wairere Road. Drive 6 km west, take the right fork: 1.5 km to the end of Horsman Road and park. Follow the direct track for 30 minutes to the top of the falls; turn left 50 m back, to go down to the pools at the bottom of the falls.

What's there:-

Sunbake on rocks above the falls. There is a round trip walk of 2 - 3 hrs around Goldie Bush, back to the car park.

Comment:-

Nov 05, JL - A pleasant walk by 5 Natural Friends included a dip at the bottom for an ex-Dunedin walker (who could therefore stand it...).
