I.N.F. Conference Stateside

Doreen & Peter James

The idea of taking a party of New Zealanders to the I.N.F. Conference in Florida in August 1982 gradually developed over about six months.

As the journey wasn't worth the expense of just going to the conference it was decided to see some of the sights of U.S.A. as well. A 14 hour flight across the Pacific took us to Los Angeles, Anaheim and Disneyland.

We stopped off at Las Vegas to see the sights and play the inevitable slot machines.

We arrived at Orlando Airport late Wednesday afternoon, where we were met by a Courier and taken to Cypress Cove Nudist Resort at Kissimmee where the Conference was to be held.

It was a beautiful evening and we were made very welcome by the Proprietors Mr & Mrs Jim Hadley. The 12 of us were soon installed in our three semi-module trailer units, which had two double bedrooms, kitchenette, dining room, lounge plus bathroom and the necessary air conditioning and coloured T.V. They were as good as a large motel unit in New Zealand.

The next most important item was to remove our clothes and sample their beautiful swimming pool - especially as it was 105°F.

The club is beautifully set out on 60 acres of land and in addition boasts a 50 acre boating lake. The streets are all sealed, as are the tennis courts and volleyball court. There is a small shop, a restaurant and clubhouse.

The focal point of the club is the swimming pool. It is set out with tables, chairs, loungers and a Spa (Jacuzzi) in one corner of the complex.

New Zealand certainly has a long way to go before we can provide anything of this calibre.

On Friday there was a press conference for the delegates which included the local television stations. This was followed by a cocktail party and later a social.

Saturday morning saw the opening of the Conference and the first working session. There were official interpreters to bridge the language barrier, but most delegates tried to speak in English.

In the afternoon the Remits were dealt with, until the meeting had to be prematurely adjourned because of a very violent electrical storm directly overhead. The marquee, where the meeting was being held, was quickly awash and the sound system wet through.

The Remits and General Business were concluded the next morning. Spain applied for the next I.N.F. Conference in 1984 and New Zealand has applied for the 1986 conference.

As a general observance it does not mailer which country you came from around the world, the problems are the same to a greater or lesser degree.

In the afternoon the marquee was used for a Jazz Concert, a band from New Orleans providing the music - most of them playing in club uniform. The more affluent members of the club (there are 2,000 members) turned up in their usual mode of transport - electric golf cars.

The New Zealanders soon arranged a friendly game of volleyball with the Americans. There was a lot of changing of team members, and we ended up winning a game each. As it was then 6.50 p.m. and the Banquet was due to commence at 7 p.m., we declared U.S.A. Northern Hemisphere Champions and New Zealand Southern Hemisphere Champs.

Rally 82 cartoon

The Banquet was the highlight of the Conference with many short witty speeches. Many gifts were exchanged and people ended up dancing around the Restaurant. Many friendships were cemented that night. We hope we will be able to meet many of the people again in the future.

We were fortunate to sample the Cable Cars before they were taken off for two years so that the tracks can be re-laid. We all met up again at Los Angeles Airport and flew down to Tahiti where we spent three days - two on the Island of Morua. We were able to go topless there, which was better than sitting around public pools in wet swimming togs.

We arrived back in New Zealand on August 31st after a fantastic trip. Unfortunately we did not have time to visit many of the well developed clubs in the areas we visited, but next time!

JUST ORDINARY FOLK

Naked bodies slip into the water as soft, musical wafts over the speakers.

Blackout curtains block the view, but you would be wrong to dismiss this gathering as exotic thrill seekers. The people here are ordinary folk participating in this country's newest and fastest growing weekend activity - nude bathing.

We visited a heated pool, where more than 200 were in the water and relaxing poolside when we arrived.

"Anybody is welcome," says the organiser, "as long as they don't wear bathers.

"We haven't had many objections. One councilor got a protest letter from a member of the cloth who complained about the fall of the Roman Empire.

"But hundreds of people are coming to nights like this." There is a "no togs" stipulation.

"The first nude swimming night started about seven years ago in a private pool.

"Now the evenings have progressed to this popular level."

Naked swimming nights are especially popular in winter for those who like to frequent nude beaches during summer.

Nudist

Nudists say public servants, managers, lawyers, doctors, elderly citizens, and policemen are among their number. We even spotted one actor from The Sullivan's in the water. He didn't want to be named.

And for the pool centre manager, who also wished to remain anonymous, this was just like any other group swimming night.

"They are one of the best behaved groups we've had. They are on a two month trial period, but I might recommend they stay.

"There might be lovers in the pool, but they are no different to couples in togs. Even couples found kissing in togs, are politely asked to leave."

The manager says, "It would be fairly easy on nights like this to pick a voyeur because patrons are given about 10 minutes to get their gear off.

"If we saw any person wandering around with their clothes on for any length of time, they would also be politely asked to leave," he said.

The manager said the nudists had use of most pool facilities including the cafeteria and sauna, but they were required to wear shoes on the squash court and clothes in the gymnasium.

"Gym equipment deteriorates rapidly with sweat, so we insist people are dressed," the manager said.

Freedom, according to those in the raw, is a major consideration in baring all. They insist nude swimming is not for kicks or exhibitionism.

"Pride"

"We're nudists, but we wouldn't run across a cricket field like this. We have pride. And I'm sure since you walked in here you haven't seen anyone turned on," said a businessman in his 40s who brought his wife, three children and his daughter's boyfriend for the nude night.

"It's educational from the kids' point of view. They see our bodies.

"Why should a tiny bit of clothing make any difference? It's the freedom and the fresh air on your body."

"I came along quite willingly," said an 18 year old with a strategically placed towel, "It's just like swimming with togs on, except you haven't got them on."

"I felt a bit strange at first," admitted an organiser of the nude swimming nights, "but you soon realise nobody minds."

Varied

Someone pointed out that admittance to the nude evenings varied from pool to pool - "Some will take members or families only, some will just admit couples and not single males.

"We don't want any single people we don't know.

"There are a certain number of singles who swim there, but we want to keep a balance.

"Single girls are welcome to keep the balance although the evenings are primarily for families.

"Sometimes we get local people turning up who just want a swim and we tell them they can join us as long as they know we are a nudist group."

AN INVITATION

There are a large number of people in N.Z. males, females, mums and dads, sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, or families as a whole who do consider that there is nothing wrong with social nudism, but for one reason or another do riot or cannot join a recognised Sun/Nudist Club. They would, should there be an opportunity support the movement without the necessity of having to join a Club.

The New Zealand Nudist Federation has now introduced into its organisation a "Supporter" member group, and you are very cordially invited to join this group.

For a small annual subscription any family or individual can become a supporter member, thus indicated in a tangible way support for the movement, and in return getting proper and official information on 'what it's all about'.

Like any properly run organisation there will be some rules, and these are set out on the application form. Simply they will be:

(a) Age 18 or over

(b) Not a member of a Club (Free Beach Group excepted - if you join a club at a later date your membership automatically lapses.)

(c) Payment of an annual subscription.

And what will you receive in turn?

Initially you will receive a receipt for your money, together with an official NZNF sticker suitable for car window or bumper; a 'Bare With Us' sticker, a year's subscription to the N.Z. 'NATURIST' and most importantly an INF/NZNF Membership Card endorsed "SUPPORTER", which will open the door to many Sun Clubs throughout the world including some N.Z. ones, and concession rates at these clubs. In due course a supporters Bulletin will be issued containing many interesting items and up-to-date information for the member on what's happening in Nudism, and associated matters of interest.

ALL applications will be treated in the strictest confidence. Well now that you know something of the scheme you may like to join us.

The annual subscription has been set at $10 plus a $2 application fee per unit: i.e. individual or family.

A stamped addressed envelope to P.O. Box 1359, Wellington will get you an application form.

GEYSERLAND LEISURE PARK

Some of you may be wondering about visiting and even staying at Geyserland on your way to and from the Rally. I say right away, go. Briefly, several areas have been levelled for camping and are at present being grassed. There is a hot stream for bathing. The lake water is NOT suitable for drinking but can be used for washing. Drinking water will be a problem until a proper bore has been sunk, so carry what you can on arrival and be thrifty in using it for cooking and drinking.

Whilst no firm decision has as yet been made it is likely that camping and day visitors fees will be left to the discretion of those attending, but with a minimum of $2 per adult camping fee and 50 cents for day visitors.

You are wondering about the future of Geyserland? That's easy! Just as soon as we have $250,000 (over the next two years we hope!) it will be all systems GO for development of a full scale camping and holiday resort - clothes optional. There have from time to time been appeals for funds. We still need a lot. If you have not already contributed your $100 (or more if you wish) you are welcome to do so.

All enquiries to: — Geyserland Leisure Park Ltd.,

P.O. Box 2169, Rotorua.

Some members, especially those who have already contributed to the project, may comment on the silence of the Trustees and the Company. This is regrettable and we have high hopes, now that there have been changes in the officers, of more information being sent to everyone. I am aware that a circular is being prepared now and the intention is that this will be sent to all contributors with a certificate of their investment holding. There is a considerable amount of work still to be done and it is even more regrettable that this is taking so long to sort out. With the Trustees and Directors spread out between Auckland and Wellington it takes time to get mail between them, made so much worse by restrictions on "spare" time to attend to such matters. All club members may rest assured that we are working to ensure everyone is happy and that both the Trust and the Company are properly and efficiently run.

STATESIDE NEWS

This was one blood drive in which the nurses didn't have to ask the donors to roll up their sleeves.

It was the first-ever nude blood drive, held at the Elysium Institute colony in Topanga. Forty-three pints of blood were collected from bare arms by the Red Cross, which is seeking out groups that have not previously donated. (Are you listening, members of the Flat Earth Society?)

Red Cross volunteer Barbara Willian told Mike Meyer of Elysium's Journal of the Senses that she and her colleagues were so impressed with Elysium that they will be back - to conduct another blood drive.

Resolved that the INF Congress assembled at Kissimmee, Florida, strongly supports the establishment of legal, clothed optional or free beaches in New Zealand and everywhere and finds that the state of New Zealand is greatly limiting its tourism industry by its restrictive laws as they are enforced on her beautiful beaches.

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA

Our springtime is your fall. I guess this is the best time of year for a New Zealand Naturist. Long warm days, good days at the beach and the fellowship naturism provides.

We have a few hardy souls here in Alaska who are members of the Midnight Sun Club. We are chartered by the ASA as a travel club. We are not dense enough yet to be able to purchase our grounds for a three or four month nude-season. The land prices are totally absurd. So we travel to the southern climes, Hawaii is close (by air), and enjoy the west coast free beaches and some of the many nudist parks there.

The ASA membership includes (now) the INF/FNI membership, so that those who wish may travel internationally and receive a reasonable welcome at most foreign resorts and clubs. We try to keep our members advised of all the travel packages and tours which would be of interest to naturists and nudists. Last fall, for example, we promoted the Austrek Experience. I don't know if any members went, but it wasn't because we didn't let them know about it. The copy machines duplicated the information brochure we received and was sent on to all members.

We are all looking forward to summer here. Looking forward with eager anticipation seems to help get us through the long, cold winter. If it wasn't for naturism, I don't know how I'd do it. Reading of the troubles and triumphs of others with the same interest in naturism helps see us through. That's why I enjoy the NZ Naturist. When I read it I am reminded that even in a land I have never visited (though I would love to) things and people are pretty much the same everywhere. We share the same problems and struggle against them until we win. And I like that. So please renew my subscription again for a fine publication.

ASSOCIATION
CALEDONIENNE
NATURISTE

The Caledonian Naturist Association (Association Caledonienne Naturiste - A.C.N.) was born in December 1975. Due to administrative slowness and some ignorance encountered with the local authority, the founder President Christian, together with a few members, struggled for four years to make the ACN recognized and accepted.

Since October 1979, the Caledonian Naturists have settled on M'BA Islet, at 1 h 40 mn from Noume by boat. Only the northern half of the islet (15 hectares) has been granted to the settlement.

With the help of Noumea Hotels and Travel Agencies, the ACN isk planning to contact naturists from abroad, and to organize tours including trips to naturist wonderland.

Sea transport is permanently provided for the naturists, on a 49 feet motor-boat, the "HOKI MAI", formerly a New Zealand pilot launch.

Among the amenities offered to the members and friends from abroad, there is a large "Fare" (traditional oceanian living hut) measuring 100 sq. meters, complete with electricity and furniture. This is the gathering place at meal times and at night times to enjoy the evenings which are organised from time to time by the members themselves. From this fare, a little path leads the way to the Sanitary Unit, built melanesian style and nestled underneath the foliage of tropical trees. Within one to two months, a large dormitory will be erected on the site.

As far as sports are concerned, a volley-ball ground is already being used, while a mini-tennis court and deck-tennis are under construction. Gymnastic apparatus for the children, french bowling and table tennis, are other sports facilities available.

Some tables and benches are laid outside underneath the trees, together with two barbecues for the greedy stomachs!

On the spot, there are plenty of activities available, scuba-diving in particular is most favoured by many fans, as the boat can go to the very near great barrier reef. Apart from this, beach games petanque and volley-ball, are most sought after.

After dinner taken in the fare, and the difference activities that follow, it's time for the children and for those who are looking for some rest to go to bed. Some others gather around a camp fire listening to the melancholic notes of a guitar accompanied by the call of sea-birds. The sea breeze is coming in, as the sleepers are dreaming under the stars. Melancholy forces some other ones to bring their sleeping mats and hammocks close to the fire, to enjoy the music and the quietness of the moment while going to sleep. Life goes on smoothly on M'BA Islet!

If you happen to visit New Caledonia, do come and see us!

Topless or not Topless?

When the new Summary Offences Act came into effect on the 1st February 1981 it was herald as a step in the right direction, because it brought both sexes under the same law for indecent exposure.

The head of the Auckland police district said, "The law is liberalised in that sense; you could call it a 1980s law."

Another senior Auckland policeman said he welcomed the law saying: "It falls in with society's standard today.

"If anyone claims that the female upper regions are offensive today I would take strong issue with him."

When one actually studies the Summary Offences Act relating to Obscenity and Indecent exposure, there appears to be no actual reference to females exposing their breasts or not exposing their breasts. The following excerpts from the act shows it only refers to the genital areas:-

27. Indecent exposure - (1) Every person is liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 months or a fine not exceeding $1,000 who, in or within view of any public place, intentionally and obscenely exposes any part of his or her genitals.

(2) It is a defence in a prosecution under this section if the defendant proves that he or she had reasonable grounds for believing that he or she would not be observed.

47. Exposure of person - Every person commits an offence, and is liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 1 year or to a fine not exceeding $400, who wilfully and obscenely exposes his person in any public place or within the view thereof.

By now you are probably thinking it will be safe this summer to sunbathe topless on the beach. Improve on your suntan and you cannot be brought to cart on an Indecent exposure charge.

Well - you're wrong (think), because it has been pointed out that if a female went topless in a Public area and anybody complained for any reason to the Police about it they would have to take action.

Unfortunately nobody knows for certain how the new law will work so until somebody goes topless on the beach and somebody else complains with the case ending up in the courts for a verdict you are still taking a risk going topless on a beach or in view of a public place.

THE SUPPORTER SCHEME

Interested in nudism? If you're not already a club member then perhaps you've been to a free beach, or have just enjoyed the freedom of nudism at home with your family or your friends.

So you enjoy the nudist way of life. But maybe there aren't any clubs near where you live, or perhaps you don't want to join one. For you there is the Supporter Scheme.

Currently Supporter membership costs $13.50 per family unit per year. For that, Supporters receive a Supporter Passport, which allows them to visit those Clubs which support the scheme. Each Club's policy on Supporters is specified in the Australia and New Zealand Nudist Club Guide.

Supporters also receive the "New Zealand Naturist" each quarter, flown out from New Zealand to the A.N.F. and then forwarded on to you. With it, we send you each quarter the "Supporters News", giving details of Supporter activities and news. You are also entitled to purchase an I.N.F. passport for travel overseas, and for an extra $1.00 per year you can also take out a subscription to the A.N.F. Bulletin which gives news of the clubs and the nudist scene in Australia and overseas.

Sounds like good value? For membership or enquiries, write to:

A.N.F. Supporter Secretary, P.O. Box 371, BEENLEIGH, Queensland 4207

P.S. Club members can be Supporters, too!

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR:

Dear Sir,

"Is it Nudist or Nudiste of the Old School", where the demarcation between pornography and nudity is? So far the booksellers and promoters of nudity in a social sense, have been unable to convince each other that there is a difference.

One only has to go and see for one's self at the News Agencies and Bookshops. Where does one find the Naturist publications? Invariably in the - Adults Only section, amongst the so-called Girlie and Sex magazines.

So who are you kidding Jane Fairbrother of the "Old School"? What have you done towards getting your own publication moved to a section which can be classified as Family reading matter? Do you or did you consider "The Naturist" a magazine which could be left on the coffee table, for anyone to browse through, including children, neighbours, friends and the like, prior to the offending Centennial Issue?

What is so offensive about advertising for male and calendar models, have you in fact seen the calendar, the advertising blurb says, cheeky, sexy, naughty but oh so nice. Is that not the way to make customers curious, in the same way as the Naturist puts a pretty figure on the front-page in order to sell it?

How would this publication survive if it did not sell advertising space, is the Nudist movement going to subsidise it, are you prepared to pay perhaps twice the price for it, in order to publish only advertising in good taste or not offensive to minors?

Then somebody else is going to complain about the photos: too many females, too many models, not enough males; where are the family groups? I prefer to see pubic hair; no: more shaven ones; no children and so on...

Is it at all possible to satisfy everyone's preferences.

The movement needs all the support it can get including Nudists of the Old School, if it was not for this publication, how would you put your views across? In your Club magazine? Who reads them? beside the Gisborne Sun Club members.

Hopefully the Gisborne Club does not consist altogether of members who are not offended by full male frontal nudity, but are offended by naughty descriptions, the mind just boggles at the inconsistency of it all.

Dick van der Vliet

What is a Rally

A rally is a place to renew friendships
A rally is a place to make new friends
A rally is a place to enjoy the sun
A rally is a place to enjoy a few drinks with new nudist friends
A rally is a place to lie in the sun and read that new book from cover to cover
A rally is a place to dance until the early morning
A rally is a place to enjoy a game of miniten or volleyball
A rally is not a place to hold a nudist Olympics

Graeme Brown

Dear Sir,

I have just come across your magazine in my son's room. I have never seen anything so disgusting as the photos of men and women. I can not see why this sort of magazine is allowed to be sold. Anyone buying them must have perverted minds and should seek medical help for their perversion. The sooner the government bans this type of magazine and book the better the country will be.

Concerned Mother of Six

Dear Sir,

Your magazine has inspired me to write and enquire how one goes about becoming a nudist. I go nude around the house and enjoy nude swimming.

I find the Club News very interesting and find it is hard to decide what Club is the best in the Auckland region.

May I congratulate those who write these articles in giving a good description of their Clubs and what goes on. Keep up the good work.

New Zealand and Australian Club News

CANTERBURY SUN CLUB

This winter has been one of the busiest we have had for a few years. We are in the process of building a spa and sauna complex, children's paddling pools and landscaping our bar-b-que area which has included cleaning approximately 7000 bricks. Apart from the fitting out of the sauna room these will be fully operational by the time this goes to print.

Even with all the hard work we have still had some great winter activities. The most spectacular being our regular ‘Brass Monkey Ball'.

For the more energetic we entered a team in the Interclub Social Grade Volleyball and after a disastrous start ended up winning our last five games. We also hosted a very successful tournament on our grounds and due to the interest created by our visitors we intend holding another tournament when the weather gets warmer.

With all this volleyball Canterbury could be the team to watch at the rally.

See you all in Auckland.

WELLINGTON SUN CLUB

Well, our new toilet block across the creek is ready for use, new power points approved, some fresh paint around the pools, new areas of grass here and there, so come on summer... we've had enough of this rain!

A Dance was held in the Railway Hall, and an Oriental Dinner Evening, in a private home, both great successes.

We started off the season with two broadcasts on Access radio, and some notes in the local press, to get people to tune in for it. We're still processing the response; we are surely getting some good members out of this.

It seems, there is quiet a group of us coming to the Auckland Rally at Oranui, however, there are plenty staying behind to camp at our ground over the holidays so you can be sure of a warm welcome if you happen to call at our club this summer.

SOUTH AUCKLAND NUDIST CLUB

S.A.N.C. has been keeping a low profile over the winter months this year. Everyone has been saving their energy for the Rally; with the Hot Pools getting a good attendance on Sunday evenings. As a good way of catching up on local nudist news and attending other Club Socials, we have not much to tell.

As for the grounds, they are slowly changing. Many trees have been removed and increased the area. The lawns have been kept fairly low this winter which has helped us to do other things that need doing.

Fundraising has gone quite well with Las Vegas Night and selling raffles; we are slowly getting closer to getting our ablution block built.

PALMERSTON NORTH SUN CLUB

Our club wants everyone to know that we now have hot showers in our toilet blocks, even if you do have to put 2Cc in the meter. Our members are now enjoying this additional facility and all vote it an excellent improvement.

Our Winter programme of monthly Saunas, the Progressive Dinners, Indoor Bowls evening, Pot luck Dinner and the Oriental Nosh Up all proved their worth and provided necessary entertainment for members over the cooler period. We also went to Wanganui and enjoyed their Sauna and Pool Evening and Wanganui in turn invaded us by coming to one of our Saunas, both safaris were social successes.

The new Tractor has been an asset and our grounds person is satisfied with the improvements. Planting of trees, shrubs and pampas was carried out during the winter and the old swimming hole was filled in and grassed over.

We have had our Annual General Meeting and the new Committee has settled into their respective duties. We now look forward to visitors, especially those passing through to the Rally at Auckland during the Christmas Holidays.

Camping or Caravan sites are available on long or short term basis. There is a kitchen available for day visitors or campers. Do try our 20c showers.

We look forward to seeing and meeting people so do come in.

Happy Sun Bathing.

AUCKLAND SUN CLUB

The second Combined Auckland Clubs' Cabaret was the success of the first one. It was unfortunate that it had been raining all week and that the mud was a little deep outside. This didn't deter anyone from thoroughly enjoying themselves until well into the wee small hours. There were visitors from clubs outside the Auckland area, including Denis and his Disco from Taranaki, which will be featuring at the Rally at A.O.H.C.

Our members have been busy this winter, clearing away Manuka and selling it for firewood. This has enabled us to expand our camping area. Already many native ferns are reacting favourably to the increased sunlight.

We have had two Sports Socials this winter in our new clubhouse and the fire has been lit many times.

The highlight this year for six of our members has been the trip to Florida to attend the International Naturist Federation Conference.

The South's Premier Nudist Club is still very much alive at
GREEN ISLAND, DUNEDIN

Along with our acres of well grassed tree lined gullies which offer warmth, shelter and privacy we have a new all weather miniten court. Volleyball Court and Swimming pool, Barbecue and Picnic areas. A natural adventure playground for children. Only 10 minutes from the city centre. Fun in the sun for all the family.

For invitation to visit, phone 739-207 or write P.O. Box 5460, Dunedin.

NATURI SUN CLUB N.S.W.

There is nothing like club nudism. The man or woman who is privileged to be an active member of a good club, is fortunate indeed, far more so than he or she who spends time in visiting the secluded beach; infinitely better because of the club amenities, and the friendships of the other members.

Looking forward to the summer season Naturi is confident that, come what may, it will forge ahead and be a bumper year for nudism. During the winter months many days were quite warm enough for sun bathing and some members made regular journeys to the club, working comfortably in the sunshine or fresh air, digging and clearing scrub for burning. Taking this into account, we believe that summer weather and an all-over-tan have been over-emphasized in connection with naturism. A weekend or Sunday at the club, in novel surroundings makes a complete and very pleasant change from every day life. Most people prefer an enjoyable sunny day and like to acquire a tan, but we should give more emphasis to the principals of naturism: the taking advantage of all opportunities for sun and air bathing, like exercising in the cooler weather, the toning up of the system by jogging around the club quarter mile track, enjoying a Bar-b-que picnic lunch, then a game of Mini Ten, followed by a beaut Sauna Bath.

We cultivate a true club spirit and the vagueness of the climate can be discounted to a great extent.

I must express here the deep regret of losing one of our senior members, John L., who joined Naturi in 1969 and died May 1982, aged almost 83 years. He rarely missed a weekend at Naturi, winter or summer. A master of chess, John also loved swimming and helped with the maintenance of the club.

Nature has little respect for man-made boundaries. In the high country north of Hawkesbury river with its fast flowing streams, forests and fortress-like mountains, there is a farm land tucked away just off the Highway, one cannot help recognising that the spectacular natural beauty of the area has been preserved, and that is Naturi Sun Club. The best of two worlds in a beautiful setting - all the conveniences of modern-day existence of a complete nudist experience, where only the song birds disturb the tranquility. There are three well laid out courts for the energetic members to play Mini Ten, a large sunken tiled crystal clear swimming pool and a children's splash pool as well as a children's area with swings, two trampolines, two sandpits, see saws etc. For a hot picnic lunch there are Bar-B-Qs, picnic tables and seats. There is a large sun bathing area for relaxing, and the day can be finished with a hot Sauna and cold shower, very invigorating and refreshing. A most enjoyable weekend can be spent.

SUPPORTER MEMBERSHIP GROUP

We are a small group but even so our membership exceeds that of some of the Clubs. Most of us have not yet met other members and that is because our membership spreads from Kaitaia in the North to Invercargill in the South.

Supporter membership is available to anyone in New Zealand over the age of 18, where they are unable for one reason or another to become a member of a local Sun Club. For most of us distance from a Club is the main reason.

Membership entitles us to a subscription to the Naturist, regular 'Bulletin' which contains items of interest regarding the nudist scene, information on publications for sale, as well as an NZNF/INF membership cards. From time to time we are able to visit clubs, the idea being that in due course we will join a local club. All this for a very moderate membership fee.

Anyone interested in joining this progressive Club is invited to write to P.O. Box 1359, Wellington, N.Z.
