NOVEMBER - DECEMBER 1987

Hello Everybody,

As I write this, the weather is playing it very cool - all cloudy and gloomy. I hope it picks up pretty soon, I'm looking forward to spending some time baking on the beach.

Towels, T-shirts and Fred Bear badges are now available, and the new prices fox these are:-

Towels: $l0

T-shirts: $ll

Badges: $2.50

It's really great to see the subscriptions rolling in. There has been quite a big capital outlay on the towels and T-shirts, so all the subscription money is keeping our cash flow ticking over nicely. Many thanks from your Treasurer.

SUBSCRIPTIONS DUE NOW *** SUBS $6 *** SUBS $6 *** SUBSCRIPTIONS DUE NOW

Camping possible, no facilities, take drinking water.

The second is a short distance along Donahue Road. Climb over a stile on the right-hand side of the road, then follow a track along the fence and down through titree scrub to the lake edge.

You may also like to go out to the estuary. Turn LEFT at Trig Road, drive several kilometres through the pine forest to a large picnic area with a boat ramp. The sandspit can also be reached by driving up Muriwai Beach to the end.

THE WEATHER: The weather forecasts in the Diary are purely my own, and I probably won't do any worse than the Weather Office. Apparently the weather will be unsettled for some time, so any trips that get cancelled will turn up again next year (to save me thinkng of something new). Do let me know of any places you'd like us to go, or any activities you'd like us to organise. And if you live out of town, perhans you would like to organise something that we could all come to - that's how the Ngatuhoa weekends started!

So long!
