NZ's World Naked Bike Rides!

The World naked Bike Ride is a protest against our 'indecent exposure to car emmisions'.

Originating in Takaka, New Zealand's events have also occurred in Auckland, Tauranga, Hawkes Bay and on Otago's Rail Trail.

Golden Bay

Takaka's event is scheduled for Saturday March 4th. It starts from 2:00pm (for body painitng and organisation) at the Pohara Beach Reserve (opposite the Penguin Café) and ends at Autumn Farm (for a BBQ). There are accomodation specials for riders at Autumn Farm (37 Central Takaka Rd, Takaka 7183) and at the Gazebo Golden Bay Backpackers (7 Hiawatha Lane, Takaka - 022 307 2640). Check (or print) the wiki details or the Pohara details. To contact the organiser, Jeremy Kelleher, email: WNBRNZ@gmail.com; or call: 027 256 3321. Also note that more naked beach days, walks and tours are planned for the following week.

Otago Rail Trail

This year the event is scheduled for the following Sunday, March 12th; starting at Waitati Hall, there's a 25 min ride to Doctors Point Beach: 3.5km. Body painting starts at 11am (BYO paint for that option), Prize-giving and a sausage sizzle to follow at Doctors Point Beach or Kowhai Heights; depending on the weather.
